Panerai Increasingly Bound to Sustainability
Recycled Steel as Something for the Watchmaking Industry to Ponder Over
The entire story of sustainability gains more content with the use of material called eSteel. It is acquired from 100% recycled waste steel originating from various industries, primarily watchmaking. This is Panerai’s call to the entire watchmaking industry for a more sustainable future that enables a significant decrease in CO2 emissions.
eSteel boasts completely identical chemical behaviour, physical structure, and resistance against corrosion as steel. The innovative material was first presented last year in the Luminor Marina model, but is now also available in the Panerai Submersible line. Sustainability is also revealed in the watch’s strap, which is made from recycled artificial fibres.

A Pleasant 44 Millimetres for a Classical Diver
As is derived from the name itself, Panerai decided on a 44-millimetre case. While bigger diver’s watches can be found, the QuarantaQuattro Collection offers the right amount of versatility. Inside ticks calibre P.900, a constant in Panerai timepieces. It will work three days without winding and you can dive to 300 metres under the sea with it on your wrist.
If you like to stay loyal to good old unrecycled steel, you won’t be disappointed. You can choose the Submersible QuarantaQuattro model, either with a white or black dial. Specifications remain the same, while the bezel is no longer in ceramic but in steel. It is fitted with a rubber strap.

Case Made from Carbon for the Most Daring Enthusiasts
The third option offers perfect lightness, since the case of the Luminor QuarantaQuattro Carbotech Blu Abisso model is made from carbon. This is the lightest material used by the brand. It should be added that the nature of carbon production means that every case has a unique appearance.
The carbon pattern on the black matte colour is nicely supplemented by the dark blue dial and the blue rubber strap.
