Audemars Piguet, Nejc Puš
Audemars Piguet has built a global network of skilled watchmakers that ensures local services and a consistent level of expertise.

All watchmakers and polishers certified by Audemars Piguet undergo ongoing training and must obtain periodic accreditation of their technical skills. We undertake to use only genuine parts. Each watch is identified by its case and movement numbers to trace its service history. Authorised service centres like Malalan display a « Audemars Piguet – authorised service centre » plate with AP validation sticker and date.

Audemars Piguet’s watchmaking foundations were laid on this rare savoir-faire, which dates back to bygone days and has been handed down from generation to generation. Since 1875, these craftspeople have practiced their skills at the highest level, building on tradition while continuously pushing further the limits of their crafts to create timepieces imbued with the Manufacture’s savoir-faire and forward-thinking spirit.

The technical complexity of Audemars Piguet calibres drives their system of training and certification. We perform periodical check-ups and quick services in our workshops and endeavour to continuously develop the skills of our technical staff in Ljubljana.

Each Audemars Piguet watch marks the beginning of a relationship dedicated to exclusive, personalised services.

Periodical Check-Ups

Check your watch's chronometric performance, functions as well as state of water-resistance and magnetisation every year.

Water resistance service

The dissassembly and cleaning of the case, the checking of the movement and the replacement of damaged components is necessary to ensure the watch's water resistance. If your watch is equipped with a quartz movement, we will replace the battery as well. This service carries a warranty limited to the replaced components.

Complete Maintenance Service

When your watch no longer functions correctly, our team takes your timepiece through a secure and precise 10-step protocol. This service comes with a 2-year warranty.

Registration, identification and diagnosis
Upon registration, your watch is photographed and your comments and observations regarding its timekeeping noted. Your watch`s unique identity is then matched with the data recorded in Audemars Piguet registers. If the estimate was not immediately approved, you will receive a differed estimate after a thorough examination by a specialised watchmaker from Malalan service centre.
Disassembly and pre-washing
Once the strap or bracelet has been removed, from the case, the watch is opened and the movement is removed, entirely disassembled and pre-washed. The movement components are examined meticulously and replaced if they show signs of premature wear or risk affecting the functioning of the mechanism.
Replacing components and adjustments
Every component is checked and the parts subjected to high wear and tear are preventively replaced with the Manufacture`s latest components.
Washing
Every movement component is placed in Teflon washing containers designed specifically to prevent scratches, before being placed in ultrasonic baths to be degreased and fully cleaned.
Assembly and lubrication
Lubrication is essential to limit the friction between the mechanical parts, thereby reducing energy loss and wear. When assembling the movement, the watchmaker can use up to a dozen different oils and greases, determined by the stability coefficients specific to each component.
Diurnal rate adjustment
The watchmaker runs your watch for 24 hours to stabilise the movement. The watchmaker adjusts the balance inertia and its isochronism in five positions, simulating real wear conditions. The rate results must comply with the Manufacture`s standards.
Casing up
The movement fitted with its dial and hands is inserted and secured into the case. After a final visual inspection, the watchmaker completes the casing up by tightening the screws or firmly pressing the caseback in.
Final Quality Control
Your watch undergoes a rigorous technical, functional and aesthetic inspection for five, up to twelve, days. Water resistance is checked to insure it will last for at least a 2-year period. The criteria are identical to the ones governing the quality of a new watch at the Audemars Piguet Manufacture. The results are registered and archived, thereby providing an exhaustive overview of the work history carried out on your watch.

Optional Polishing of a Watch

The case and the bracelet are fully disassembled which allows the polisher to replace any components subjected to wear and tear. Then the case and the bracelet are polished with extreme care to respect the original design.

Strap and Buckle Service

Audemars Piguet offers a large variety of handcrafted straps most of which are hand-stitched. Specific skills are required to proceed with a strap change and our stores also offer a fitting service. On some models, self-interchangeable straps and buckles are available and can be purchased as accessory.

Two-year service warranty

Labour and parts used in a complete maintenance service are covered by a two-year warranty. It is valid throughout the global network of authorized service centres. Some limitations apply in case of unusual wear and tear.
