Cartier Baignoire
Revealing beauty in all its forms: an enduring concept of the Maison that catalyzed the creation of the Baignoire de Cartier. It all began in 1912, when Louis Cartier took the traditional round watch and stretched it out to an unexpected new shape. The case was later transcended through several years of formal research, honing the Maison's commitment to channeling the creative power of watchmaking design through ordinary forms. With its two straight parallel lines, closed by two curves to give it a shape reminiscent of a bathtub (a "baignoire" in French), this collection encapsulates the two key components of the Maison's stylistic vocabulary: transforming objects and embracing beauty.
