In the land of lakes and mountains there’s the Swiss watchmaking center, Geneva, where the Watches and Wonders 2025 watch fair is taking place. We took a look at what innovations are offered by most prominent, global watchmakers.

ROLEX: Imagination in movement

Rolex unveils its new watches, conceived by the perpetually active imagination that imbues the entire manufacture. From the movements to cases and bracelets, from design to the choice of materials, the latest creations offered by Rolex attest to visionary achievements in watchmaking that pave the way to new horizons.

Rolex begins a new chapter in its history with the Oyster Perpetual Land-Dweller. This watch is powered by a revolutionary calibre – a movement that was designed to beat at the high frequency of 5 hertz and be highly performant.

The Oyster Perpetual is graced with new faces in an array of colours that celebrate the meeting of pastel shades. A muted lavender, a warm sandy beige and a fresh pistachio green.

Cartier: digital heritage, automatic elegance, and glistening panthers

This year, Cartier returns with refreshed interpretations of the legendary Tank model, among which Tank à Guichets, a watch with a digital display of time through apertures that combines a historically futuristic design and contemporary refinement, stands out. In addition, Cartier also presents the Tank Louis model with automatic movement retaining the traditional shape and characteristic details. The news is a subtle pattern on the dial indicating the automatic drive. The brand is additionally strengthening its identity with the new Panthère de Cartier Collection uniting the elegance of jewellery and the boldness of watches sparkling with precious stones.

Breitling: a new movement for everyday startup

With the Top Time B31, Breitling opens a new chapter in its most free-spirited collection, featuring for the first time in its history an in-house movement with three hands – calibre 31. This COSC-certified movement offers a 72-hour power reserve and enables a slim, elegant 38mm case profile. The aesthetic of the model is inspired by the retro spirit of the 1960s, as reflected in the contrasting minute ring, magnifying glass, and prominent orange hands. Breitling, meanwhile, rekindles its connection to the automotive world with the limited Top Time Racing collection, where chronographs with the iconic dashboard dial shape and the B01 movement retain the scent of asphalt.

Zenith: a blue tribute to watchmaking excellence

On the occasion of its 160th anniversary, Zenith revives its rich heritage with the G.F.J. model, a tribute to its founder Georges Favre-Jacot and the legendary calibre 135 movement. The refreshed calibre 135 maintains its historical architecture, but with an improved 72-hour power reserve and COSC certification, it further enhances its technical superiority. The blue dial in lapis lazuli with pyrite and guilloché pattern stands out visually. At the same time, the brand has also consolidated its stellar identity with the blue collection of key models, the Pilot Big Date Flyback, Defy Skyline Chronograph, and Chronomaster Sport, now available in blue ceramic as a symbol of the sky, perfection, and precision.

IWC and the new Ingenieur: a watch for engineers, racers, and aesthetes

IWC is renowned for its technical sophistication and engineering heritage. With aesthetic and technical upgrades, the Ingenieur returns to the stage of modern watchmaking. The new Ingenieur in a black ceramic case combines dark elegance with a sporty touch, while the steel version impresses with the combination of chronograph and perpetual calendar. IWC has catered to those who find the classic 40mm version too large, so the Ingenieur model has gained a smaller brother in a 35mm version. The new collection is also given a special touch by its film presence in the upcoming Formula 1 film, where Brad Pitt wears an olive green Ingenieur. Thus, IWC confirms its intertwining of technical perfection, sporting spirit, and popular culture.

Panerai: Luminor shines anew

The Italian luxury watchmaker returns to its roots of robust and functional aesthetics with the new Luminor collection, while introducing technical improvements. The Luminor Marina models maintain their recognisable shape, characteristic crown protection, and exceptional readability thanks to the "sandwich" dial and excellent luminescence. The design of the P.980 movement brings improved functionality and aesthetically perfected details. For the most demanding, there is the new Luminor Perpetual Calendar GMT in platinum alloy, which, in addition to complexity and multifunctionality, offers greater strength and thus scratch resistance.
